The Male Figure { Denver Portrait Photographer }

It’s been a while since my last post.  I have been taken lots of pictures, but my latest endeavor was photographing the male figure.  I know that I am not the first creating images like these, but this is my take on it. Check them out and tell me what you think!

Meeting a courageous Soul... { Denver Portrait Photographer }

"Take 10 minutes for reflection, and think about what you want to do with your day." -Rigoberta Menchú

Some days are just better than others.  Yesterday I went back to work after the long weekend, thinking I was going to have a regular day.  My supervisor asked me if I could go take pictures to an event so they can send some to the press, and I said "sure, why not".  Little did I know when I got to the event that I was going to be photographing one of the most remarkable people of this planet, Nobel Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú Tum.
I was in the clouds when I met her, I told her how much I admire her work and how amazing I thought her story was, then I tried to stop myself from crying while having flashbacks of where I was when they announce her a 1992’s Peace Nobel prize winner, after our chat I hugged her, she said that she just "helped" because it was really the community who did the rest.  I think it was one of the most remarkable days of my life, maybe ranking on the top 10 of my almost 31 years.

Here are the photos I took of the event and Rigoberta.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

"To be a light to others you will need a good dose of the spiritual life. Because as my mother used to say, if you are in a good place, then you can help others; but if you're not well, then go look for somebody who is in a good place who can help you."

"We have learned that change cannot come through war. War is not a feasible tool to use in fighting against the oppression we face. War has caused more problems. We cannot embrace that path."
Both Quotes by Rigoberta Menchú Tun...

I hope there are many more opportunities like this one.  Until next time!

Remember film? { Denver Portrait Photographer }

Once upon a time, way before facebook, flip cams and mp3’s, there was something called “film camera”.  People used it to take pictures and to see them, they had to go a camera store to have them develop it, or in some cases, they would have to go to a darkroom and develop them themselves!

Here are some photos I took with a film camera a few years ago. Not only I had to develop them myself, I also had print them several times until I got the right exposure, imagine that!  I’m getting too technical, so here they are, enjoy:
