Lighting a world of possibilities! { Denver Portrait Photographer }

I just got back from Santa Fe, NM.  I took a week long workshop named "Small Strobes, Big Results" instructed by David Tejada and it is offered by Santa Fe Workshops.  There were other workshops at the same time as ours, and they range from Advanced Photoshop to Cultural and Documentary photography.  The experience was more than I could hope for, and I feel revitalized and more creative than ever.  Here are a few of my favorite shots.  Let me know what you think.

I hope you like them as much as I do.

Word magnets...

I had friends at my place a few weeks ago. One of my guests started playing with the magnets on my fridge, next thing you know we put all of them in the table and started forming sentences. Here's what we came up with:

"Pour my heart & passion in my beautiful love"

"Take a chance"

"Take a chance and have a revolution"

"Another cinnamonish cheek lollipop..."

"Absolutely! Have a fruit day"

"Me want sweat-ish"

"...And we're done"

"Photograph the unpredictable"
Of course, the last one is my personal favorite. Until next time!

The Male Figure { Denver Portrait Photographer }

It’s been a while since my last post.  I have been taken lots of pictures, but my latest endeavor was photographing the male figure.  I know that I am not the first creating images like these, but this is my take on it. Check them out and tell me what you think!

Meeting a courageous Soul... { Denver Portrait Photographer }

"Take 10 minutes for reflection, and think about what you want to do with your day." -Rigoberta Menchú

Some days are just better than others.  Yesterday I went back to work after the long weekend, thinking I was going to have a regular day.  My supervisor asked me if I could go take pictures to an event so they can send some to the press, and I said "sure, why not".  Little did I know when I got to the event that I was going to be photographing one of the most remarkable people of this planet, Nobel Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú Tum.
I was in the clouds when I met her, I told her how much I admire her work and how amazing I thought her story was, then I tried to stop myself from crying while having flashbacks of where I was when they announce her a 1992’s Peace Nobel prize winner, after our chat I hugged her, she said that she just "helped" because it was really the community who did the rest.  I think it was one of the most remarkable days of my life, maybe ranking on the top 10 of my almost 31 years.

Here are the photos I took of the event and Rigoberta.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

"To be a light to others you will need a good dose of the spiritual life. Because as my mother used to say, if you are in a good place, then you can help others; but if you're not well, then go look for somebody who is in a good place who can help you."

"We have learned that change cannot come through war. War is not a feasible tool to use in fighting against the oppression we face. War has caused more problems. We cannot embrace that path."
Both Quotes by Rigoberta Menchú Tun...

I hope there are many more opportunities like this one.  Until next time!
