My Dominican Family - Photo Series [ Denver Portrait Photographer ]

It had been a long time since I've visited my family still living in Dominican Republic. I live here in Denver, and well, time flies and before you know it, 15 years go by before you go back to visit.

Once there - and being a photographer and all - I wanted to photograph everything and share quality time with my family, which was hard, because I was traveling with my parents plus my aunt and her husband, and that meant visiting everybody for about an hour and then move on to the next house. I also did a lot of street photography, mostly photographed from the car, because we had very little time to peruse. I will create a second post with the photographs of what I saw from my car and the two road trips we did.

The following portrait series are very personal photos and I am so happy I got to do them. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to photograph every member of my family like I wanted to, but eventually I'll go back again, hopefully with more time to walk around the city, do longer visits, and add more family members to the series.

All the images were created with my Fuji X100s and editing was done with LightRoom 5.

Sour Looks: A photo series { Denver Portrait Photographer }

I decided that this year was going to be different, and by different I mean shooting more. Enough of watching tutorials, reading blog posts, and hoping to become a miraculously amazing. The best way to become a great photographer is by shooting. Don't let your ideas just sit there, go out there and make them.

I've had this idea for the longest time. I wanted to snap pictures of people as they first put in their mouths a piece of super sour candy. Well I did it, and the results are hilarious, at least to me!

Take a look:

All of the images were shot with the Fuji X100S.

Until next time.

Street Photography from my trip to San Francisco

It seems like ages ago but it's been only 4 months since I went to San Francisco. I was able to break in the Fuji x100s, walk around, and enjoy the city. I ate a lot, walked a lot and ate some more. The best part was enjoying getting to spend quality time with my best friends and my wife for sure!

You 'll see that my hair makes some cameos in the images, but I decided to leave them there because it shows how close I am to some of my subjects. I had the camera in silent mode all the time, so sometimes I didn't even know if I'd taken the picture or no, it was kind of a surprise, a little bit like shooting film again.

Here's a collection of my favorites:

 This camera is amazing, simply amazing. I love it and cherish her like a child!
